About us

The Spanish Association of Lloyd’s Coverholders (ASASEL, in the Spanish anagram) was incorporated in April 2008, in accordance with the Organic Law 1/2002, 22nd March, as a non-profitable association. It is duly registered with the National Registry of Associations.
ASASEL has three main goals:

Being

an internal debate forum, promoting the exchange of knowledge of topics which are related, direct or indirectly, to the Lloyd's insurance market and developing an accessible and informal environment of communication, where the members may share their experience.

Promoting

contacts and relationships with similar groups or associations in other countries, particularly in Europe.

Contributing

to the development and promotion of the concept of coverholder (or “underwriting agency”) in the Spanish market and, particularly, the concept of Lloyd’s coverholders, as another alternative for risks placement.

Despite being a young association, ASASEL is the sole Association of Underwriting Agencies/ Coverholders in Spain. ASASEL was invited by the Spanish General Directorate of Insurance and Pensions Funds to take part in several meetings together with other representatives of the insurance industry.
ASASEL always take part in the Insurance Week, within the LLOYD’S event.
